Strategic Risk Solutions, Inc. (“SRS”), a provider of captive management and consulting services, announced today that Jonathan Reiss will be joining the firm as Managing Director and as a member of the Board. Mr. Reiss, who is currently President of Strategic Partnerships at Hamilton Insurance Group, Ltd. (“Hamilton”) in Bermuda, is expected to join SRS during the fourth quarter, 2020. He will assume responsibility for several expansion initiatives, primarily focused in the commercial insurance and reinsurance sector.
Commenting on the hire and the new role, Brady Young, President and CEO of SRS, stated “I am excited to have someone of Jonathan’s caliber and experience join the firm. We have enjoyed consistently strong growth in our core captive management and consulting business including expansion of those businesses geographically. We also believe there are opportunities to provide more services to commercial insurers and reinsurers as well as developing new products, services and risk capital to support our existing captive client base. Jonathan will play a lead role in helping us evaluate these opportunities, and where appropriate, to implement solutions.”
Jonathan brings over 27 years of experience dedicated to the insurance industry and is one of the founders of Hamilton, having previously served as its Group Chief Financial Officer. He currently oversees a variety of Hamilton’s strategic initiatives, including Hamilton ILS, Hamilton’s Syndicate Management business at Lloyd’s and certain InsurTech joint venture interests. The latter includes serving as a director of Attune, Hamilton’s digital MGA joint venture with AIG and Two Sigma. Previously, Jonathan was the Leader of EY’s Insurance practice for the Bermuda, Bahamas and Cayman region. Jonathan had been with EY, in Bermuda and New York, for 19 years and had been a Partner for 12 years. He is the son of Fred Reiss, widely regarded as the founder of the captive insurance industry.
