Our amazing SRS Guernsey office is currently taking part in an exciting and challenging local fundraising event called The Everest Challenge. This unique endurance event requires participants to walk, run, or climb up a well-known local hill, Val Des Terres, to collectively reach the equivalent height of Mount Everest (8,848 meters).
Each lap of Val Des Terres measures 1.6 kilometers in distance with an elevation gain of 77 meters. To complete the challenge, participants must complete an astonishing 115 laps, replicating the height of the world’s tallest mountain. This is no easy feat, requiring determination, stamina, and a strong team spirit.
The Everest Challenge is not just about physical endurance; it is also about coming together as a community to support a meaningful cause. All funds raised from this event will be donated to Les Bourgs Hospice, a local charity that provides vital care and support to individuals with life-limiting illnesses, as well as assistance for their families. The hospice relies on fundraising efforts like these to continue offering compassionate, high-quality palliative care services to those in need.
The SRS Guernsey team is thrilled to be a part of this initiative, pushing their limits while making a real difference in the community. Whether walking a few laps or tackling the entire challenge, every step counts toward raising awareness and funds for Les Bourgs Hospice.
