Location: Tennessee
We are looking for an experienced accounting professional to manage the financial and regulatory affairs of a portfolio of captive insurance companies and assist with the establishment of management operations and opening of a new Tennessee office.
Role
Duties include:
- Preparing financial statements.
- Maintaining accounting records and work papers.
- Preparing regulatory filings.
- Preparing for and attending Board of Director meetings.
- Managing client communications.
- Managing workflow across multiple captive insurance company accounts.
- Acting as liaison between Captives, Legal, Actuarial firms and Auditors.
- Maintaining strong working relationships with the Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance.
- Report to the Mid-South Managing Director and the SRS CFO on the day-to-day operations of the Tennessee office.
Minimum Qualifications
To be considered candidates must have at least the following minimum qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years financial accounting experience.
- Captive management exposure.
- Comprehensive and up-to-date technical knowledge and practical experience of financial accounting.
- Insurance accounting experience.
- Self-motivation with the ability to work effectively as part of a team or on individually assigned tasks in a fast paced dynamic environment where superior time management and prioritization of skills are essential.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Accounting degree or equivalent.
- Willingness to relocate to Tennessee.
